My name is Leila. I am a 29‑year‑old Middle Eastern artist living in Vancouver, and working toward releasing my first collection of 12 original songs. They are currently in the mixing stage, and I’m seeking funding to complete the mastering process which is the final step that will allow my voice to be heard clearly and professionally across all platforms.
I grew up in the middle east, where I was told that my voice as a girl was forbidden. Music was not something I was allowed to explore, and speaking openly about my experiences was dangerous. Today, as an ex‑Muslim I use music as a tool for healing, grounding, and reclaiming my identity.
These 12 songs are deeply personal. They explore trauma, recovery, dissociation, and the long journey of finding myself again. They are the sound of a woman who was silenced for decades choosing to speak not in secret, but publicly, boldly, and with intention.
Mastering these songs will allow me to share my story with the world. It will give my Middle Eastern voice the clarity and presence it deserves, instead of letting it remain hidden or diminished. My goal is to release this project independently and make it accessible to people who need to hear stories like mine. My songs are for people healing from trauma, people who feel voiceless, and anyone who has been told they are not allowed to exist fully.
Your support will help me complete this project and bring these songs to life. You won’t just be funding music, you’ll be helping a woman reclaim her voice, rewrite her reality, and offer healing to others through art.
Thank you for believing in my story.
