Hi, my name is Savanna, daughter of Bonnie and Stepdaughter of Randy Ellison. As you may have heard, Randy was assaulted Monday night at 4th Street Bar in West Point, Iowa. He was falsely accused of hurting my mother, and someone took it upon themselves to assume the worst before knowing the truth. The truth is that Randy has never and would never hurt my mom. He has never laid a hand on my mother, or any other human being, ever. He has never been in a fight. He is a lover, and only fights with his words and his wit when absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, when alcohol and head injuries are involved, memories are very fuzzy or nonexistent. We believe my mom fell while trying to get into the passenger seat of Randy’s lifted truck. All of her injuries are conducive to this being the case. Someone saw her on the ground by the open truck door, and decided to break Randy’s orbital bone at his eyebrow and upper cheek, his jaw in two places, left and right, subject him to multiple brain bleeds, and leave him in the street to die.

Randy is doing better today, he is hurt and confused about why anyone would want to harm him. He has no memory between January 1st around 6pm to yesterday, January 3rd around noon. He will be in surgery tomorrow, Friday January 5th, to repair his jaw fractures, followed by 6 weeks of his jaw being wired shut, physical therapy, and major loss of income for both he and my mom, not to mention working with the police, the community, and a lawyer to find out who did this and bring them to justice.
