Hello I'm Effie, and In the summer of 2027 I will have the amazing opportunity to travel on a 4 week expedition to Borneo. In Borneo I will be working with Camps International and local communities to help work towards improving the lives of locals by helping with the building of schools and also improving local facilities. Whilst in Borneo I will also be helping with things like conserving and regrowing their beautiful rainforests and helping with conservation efforts toward species such as orangutans and sun bears. Camps International is an organisation whose aim is to improve on people's lives and help conserve the natural environment. They work in seven different countries and have completed around 400 projects to help the communities and environments there so far creating a lasting and vital impact on people's lives.

I'm really looking forward to being able to have a positive impact in the lives of those potentially less fortunate than me and learning about their lives and experiences is a very important factor to me, as well as, helping out and providing support to those who need it. Another reason why I decided to go to Borneo is because of how I will be helping to support the environment. I value animals very highly and to be able to help with things like conserving their habitats and working with 2 endangered species is such a great opportunity.
