Donate to help raise funds for Rivers rehabilitation

On Saturday 2nd of August River was involved in an accident where she had broken both bones in her right leg one of which was sticking out of her skin. In a split second, a double bounce at a trampoline park resulted in the compound fracture.

She was rushed to hospital and had to have 2 surgeries to repair her leg, one of which couldn’t be performed until the next day.

Shes overcome so much in the last 6 days in the hospital and at times battled through so much pain and discomfort through all hours of the day and night!

Such a tiny little girl with such a big heart!

I can’t tell you the feeling of watching your little girl in so much pain and feeling helpless just sitting there trying to reassure her.

Shes a tough cookie with a strong spirit, you couldn’t hold her back from pushing the limits with her rehab in hospital, you couldn’t stop her from wanting to get up and out of bed and push on with the day, there was no stopping her, the nurses, the doctors and the OT’s couldn’t believe what she was doing and how determined she was!

Once she started showing signs of improvement, talks began of the ongoing treatment and support for River.

Costs started to add up with wheelchair hires, medical needs, appointments, new clothes to be altered to get around the leg , shower chairs etc etc. We’ve had to take time off to support River in the hospital so I made the decision to reach out and see if some people out there can help ease the pressure off these costs.

She was surrounded by so much love and support from all of her family up here in the hospital, when we arrived in the emergency room on the first day, just before she went to sleep for the initial surgery the nurse asked what she was going to dream of…. She asked her is it fairies? or unicorns? What are you going to dream of? She said “Family”, and the nurse looked around and seen 9 family members by her side and I think then realised how important family is to her! Family is so important for River! She has family close and far away, many friends are like family to her. She’s a character and we love her for it.

Helping donate will help support Rivers journey to recovery, it will ease the pressure off financially and we can get her back running, playing and being a princess that she is!

Im incredibly grateful, thank you it means a lot.
