In memory of our dear friend, Prashanth Shankar Kumar, who valiantly fought metastatic colon cancer for over eight years before peacefully passing away on January 16th, 2024. Prashanth's resilience was evident throughout his battle, marked by years of treatments, surgeries, and unwavering determination. His legacy lives on through his wife, Ramya, and their five-year-old son, Dhruv.
Prashanth's journey led the family to Houston two years ago, seeking advanced medical care. Despite facing the challenges of metastatic colon cancer (a condition where cancer that originated in the colon area spread to other parts of his body, including the lymphatic system), he endured extensive treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation, and a significant brain surgery in January 2023. Unfortunately, recent developments showed cancer in Prashanth's lungs, intensifying his medical struggles.
In the final days of his life, Prashanth experienced immense pain, making each breath a challenge. While his passing brings profound sadness, there is a sense of relief that Prashanth is now free from the pain that marked his courageous battle.
