We are Nate & Emmeline and we are raising money for our friend Petra*.
Who is Petra?
Petra and her husband are our friends whom we met and grew close with when we were living in the Middle East. Because of a great unjustice that has been done unto them, they are facing a lot of (financial) problems. Petra and her son were forced to leave the country, while her husband has been imprisoned in the country that they left.
Petra and her 8 year old are now living in a new and unknown country. All the stress which Petra is experiencing from her situation is wearing her out physically and mentally and she needs to be admitted to the hospital. This mother and son, however, have no money to finance that. They don't even have enough money for groceries and basic needs.
Yet, there is hope! Petra is a very ambitious and passionate woman and she is very excited to make her own money! She is connected to an organization that will help and train her to set up her own business that will generate income for her family. The training will (God willing) take place after the summer/early Fall.
What are her needs?
In order to survive the coming 6 months we ask members of the Body of Christ to help her by donating money. Here is an overview of what her pressing needs are:
- monthly basic needs (rent, food, transportation): $1,050 per month = $6,300 from May until October
- medical expenses: $1,000 (examination, diagnosis and treatment)
- tuition for business and discipleship training program: $500
- unexpected costs: $1,000
How will your money get to Petra?
The money that you donate on this website will go to our (Nate & Emmeline) personal account. That is because Gofundme doens´t pay out in the country Petra is living, so it can not go to her directly. Instead, we will use the transfer-provider WISE to send your donated money to a trusted contact person who lives in the same city as Petra. The contact person will withdraw the amount from his account and give the cash money to Petra.
The platforms we use (Gofundme and WISE) take a small percentage of your donation. However, this won't be more than 4-6% in total. So at least 94% of your donation will reach Petra.
