Donate to help pay for Jordan's heart surgery

Jordan Zuniga was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He is 27 years old and has suffered from ventricular tachycardia-a medical condition characterized by an irregular heartbeat that, in his case, results in a rapid heartbeat that occurs randomly and can raise his heart rate to over 200 beats per minute. His condition requires frequent visits to the hospital to normalize his heart rate during an episode.

Jordan was born in the city, but his home is in a village with few possibilities for professional growth. Despite meager resources, he made an effort to study and get ahead to help his mother, who took great care to raise her children despite being a single mother. Through hard work and dedication Jordan managed to graduate as an agricultural engineer, a profession that is difficult to enter in his country. He started from the bottom with jobs that did not correspond to his profession, despite his health problems. His perseverance has paid off as he’s been receiving promotions when they come due.

Despite his hard work, the opportunities in his profession and in his country do not provide enough income to pay for his treatment and his illness has worsened over the years. On two separate occasions Jordan has suffered episodes of Tachychardia that, by the grace of God, he barely survived. Doctors indicate an operation that must be performed in a period of less than a year since the medication at some point will no longer do the job. On behalf of our family we ask for your support to be able to collect at least part of what is stipulated since the operation has an approximate cost of $8000. Jordan is a young man with many dreams, some that he has already achieved and many others that he has yet to fulfill. We appeal to the will of those who can donate with whatever they can so that our beloved Jordan continues to fulfill his dreams.

As an aside, this project is close to my heart because I suffered from the same condition. For years I avoided traveling to places where I couldn’t be sure of speedy medical care in the event of an ‘attack’. As I got older, the condition only worsened as each time I experienced an attack, I had to go to the emergency room to have doctors “reset” my heart. This meant actually stopping my heart so it could reset on its own. As you can imagine, the experience was terrifying and frustrating. In 2019 I went through a procedure called an ablation. This procedure involved sending a probe through my groin to my heart to burn the area of my heart that was causing the rapid heartbeat. Since the operation, I haven’t had a recurrence and can finally plan travel without worrying about where I’ll receive medical help for my heart. The operation was life-changing for me, as it will be for Jordan. A little from us means the world to him.

It would make me very happy if you use the sharing button to share my project! And regardless of your contribution, thank you for hearing his story.
