Hi, we’re Shari and Marlon, two working students from Mainz.

We adopted Arturo from a shelter about 2 years ago. He is only 4 years old now and had been in the shelter most of his life due to his “temperament” and was considered a difficult candidate for adoption.

He immediately felt at home with us and has been a source for a lot of laughs and joy.

Early this week he was diagnosed with a urinary tract blockage and was ultimately admitted for a 3-day stay at the animal hospital.

Costs for that day alone sit at around 1600EUR.

We were so happy to get him home after, but the issue persisted and we had to go to an emergency vet who admitted him again and recommended a surgery to solve the problem long-term.

The second stay in the animal hospital and the cost of the surgery (planned for Sep 29) will be another 2000-2500EUR.

The incoming second vet bill led us to start a gofundme in hopes of getting some help to shoulder the costs of his treatment.
