Hello, my name is Asa Payne, my grandfather's name Is Thomas Payne. We run the business Timely Matter in Seattle WA.
On November 20th, 2020 I purchased my grandfather's business and began to advance and further the legacy he created. I rebranded and stepped up the rate at which business was conducted.
we have been robbed 3 times in the past 1 1/2 years.
-2 weeks into starting the business we were robbed. Only a Mac book pro and petty cash was stolen along with some watches.
-On 3/21/22 we were hit very hard. The robber broke the front window and stole all watches for sale. He then proceed to the back where he in bolted the safe from the ground and stole the entire safe with all of my customer's precious family heirlooms.A value of roughly $100,000 was stolen.
-On June 23rd, 2022 he kicked in the front door and only $3000 worth of value was stolen. He just broke some stuff and stole vintage NOS parts.
When we were robbed in March I was not insured. It’s a very ironic story but we were in the middle of dealing with ADT and switching over an insurance policy from the old business to the new. This has left me to go and apply for loans to pay people back.
after this 3rd robbery, I closed my store. I see no point in being a farm for burglaries. I am still responsible for the lease, but at least I don’t have to keep waking up early in the morning to deal with the police and a huge clean-up.
all robberies with police reports have been closed cases from the start. No detectives were assigned. So we are pretty much SOL.
being denied all business loans I’ve been forced to go and get personal loans with high interest. I have 2 loans equally $45,000 to pay people back. I have paid out almost all of the $45,00 to customers and am left with almost nothing to live off of.
I am not a man that goes for handouts but unfortunately, this is pretty much what I’m left with. I have waited and waited trying not to start a go fund me. I am sorry to have to make this fundraiser, I am indebted to anyone to donate.
Thank you so very much for the time it took to read this. I hope Seattle and other high-crime areas improve as time goes on.
