Hello Friends, Family, and Supporters,

Many of you know me (Ed Kriete), and you know I’m incredibly passionate about coaching youth soccer in my community of Pleasant Hill/Martinez/Concord, California. Growing up, I played a lot of soccer and still play today, when my knees let me. I’m reaching out to you now with a heartfelt request. The kids I work with love this sport as much as I do – they’re enthusiastic and dedicated to the sport. They’re excited to learn strategy, creativity and problem-solving skills in order to successfully defend, dribble, distribute and shoot the ball on the pitch. However, the costs associated with competitive soccer—such as; league registrations, uniforms and gear, travel, tournament fees and training —can be prohibitive for some of our families.

Our goal is to raise $2,000 to ensure that financial commitments don’t interfere with our players’ ability to join our team or pursue their soccer goals. I want an even playing field and to remove as many barriers as I can! Any funds we raise through this GoFundMe will supplement the club dues and personal expenses already paid by the majority of players on our team and go directly towards:

- **Uniforms and Gear:** Ensuring all players have the necessary gear, including uniforms, cleats, and protective equipment.

- **League Registration Fees** Contributing to fees to join a competitive team.

- **Training:** Helping cover the cost of training resources.

I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact that soccer can have on young athletes. It teaches discipline, teamwork, and resilience—skills that extend far beyond the field. By supporting our campaign, you’re investing in our players’ futures and helping us build a strong, supportive community.
