We adopted our cat Sesame 2 years ago and he has been an absolute joy in our lives. Since December 1, we have been in and out of the hospital battling chylothorax, a rare medical disorder.
Since discovering his diagnosis on Xmas Eve when we were driving him home, we have been overcome with grief about how to handle his medical care as we want to treat him for mediastinal lymphoma (the aggressive kind). His chemotherapy treatments will be 25 weeks.
If you can donate anything, we would be so grateful… what’s more is if you could share with others, help spread the word, we’d be thrilled.
Funds raised will help:
-offset the costs we’ve spent to treat his chylous effusion for the last 3 weeks
-go towards chemo treatments for the next 6 months
-anything extra will go towards supporting AMC and their world class, class act non-profit animal care
Sesame is 3yo, the prognosis is positive if he can hold out for chemo and has a complete response to treatments. We’re working with the most lovely Vet doctors, oncologists at AMC (Animal Medical Center / Schwarzman) - they are honest, supportive, kind and want Sesame and our family to be ok while not doing anything that will take away from his/our quality of life.
Merry Christmas, and peaceful, healthy holidays to you and your loved ones!
