My name is Osama Baroud from the Gaza Strip, and I never imagined I would be in this position—reaching out for help from kind strangers around the world. But today, I do so with hope in my heart and deep gratitude for every person who chooses to read my story.

I am a father, a provider, and someone who has always done his best to care for his loved ones. But everything changed with the war on Gaza. My home—once filled with laughter, warmth, and memories—has been reduced to rubble. We lost not only our possessions but the sense of security and stability we once knew.

Among those I care for is my beloved son, who has Down syndrome. His needs are constant and critical, especially when it comes to accessing the medication and care he requires. Traveling to get this treatment is costly and, in these conditions, incredibly difficult. Every step forward feels like climbing a mountain.

In the midst of this chaos, one of the people who has shown me unwavering support is my friend, Breianna Becker. She has launched this fundraiser not out of obligation, but out of compassion. Her heart has given me strength when I felt like giving up.
