Ollie was diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma of his prostate in February. His prognosis without treatment was just 3 months and about a year with chemo. After carefully considering many factors including his overall quality of life and well-being, I decided to go ahead and start chemo with Ollie.
Unfortunately, the diagnosis process was very expensive the cost of treatment is exceeding what they quoted me due to added blood work, medications, ultrasounds, etc. On a positive note, he hasn't experienced any side effects from the treatments and we will know if his tumor is shrinking before his fourth treatment (he's currently had two).
Ollie is only 8 years old and his spirit is still full of life. I want to give him a fighting chance so that we can enjoy one last summer together, doing his favorite outdoor activities, including hiking, sunbathing, and SWIMMING! I truly don't believe that he is ready to let go.
I would like to thank our family and friends who have already reached out and donated and those who encouraged me to start a gofundme. If anyone can donate or share this Ollie and I would GREATLY appreciate your contribution.
Any leftover funds will be donated to cancer research for dogs.
