Hi y'all! My best friend's wife Noelle got in a motorcycle accident on Friday (5.19) and after a very scary weekend of ambulance rides, surgery, scrambling with child care, paperwork and anticipation, has finally returned home to her wife Sudana and son Kiah. We are so so relieved and happy to have her back, but she is now facing a long and difficult recovery at home that will require every bit of strength from her and help from us that we can muster. Let's get our favorite USPS letter carrier back on her route!!!
WANTED TO NOTE: the "tip" option that goes to gfm is taken out of the amount you donated.
here's a note with some more details from her wife Sudana:
First of all, we would like to thank all our friends, family, and work families for their support and kind words, all of this would be so much more difficult without you all, we are overwhelmed with gratitude!!
Friday morning (5/19/23) Noelle was in a motorcycle accident on the 121 and 29 intersection. Without warning, the car two lengths ahead of her braked to squeeze into a fully-stopped turning lane, hanging their back end into the northbound lanes going full speed. Noelle had no choice but to bail out on her bike, causing her to slide out into a commercial trucks back tire. The impact broke both side of her ribs as well as a serious break in her T-3 vertebrae. She was transferred from Queen to the Valley hospital to UC Davis medical center in Sacramento for emergency spine surgery with the neurological team. After a 5+ hour surgery, Noelle now has two titanium rods and 8 screws spanning from her T1 to T6 vertebrae. Although she is recovering quickly, she still has a long journey ahead of her. After her discharge from the hospital as of 5.23, Sudana will be providing 24 hour care while Noelle learns to do the basics again. We are so happy that Noelle survived this horrible accident, and we will continue to share and update as we go along!
