5/12/2025 Update from Monica:
We’re relieved and grateful to share that Noah’s surgery was a success. The surgeons were able to remove most of the tumor, and he is healing well. There is still a small portion remaining, so we’ll be following up with regular MRIs in Ohio to monitor it closely.
This journey has truly been a testament to God’s glory and faithfulness. We are back to work now and doing our best to return to a sense of normal life.
Thank you all for the continued prayers, love, and support. Your encouragement has lifted us up in ways we can’t fully express. Your kindness and love has meant the world to us and truly helped carry us through.
3/7/25 UPDATE: The Weeks family received the BEST news this past week: Noah’s biopsy came back as BENIGN!! Praising God for this answered prayer!!
Noah’s local doctors referred him to a couple of surgeons at Ohio State who specialize in the removal of skull base tumors for further treatment. He was there for appointments and additional testing this past week. The tumor is large and due to its location in Noah’s brain, it’s gotta go! Surgery has been scheduled for Wednesday, 3/12/25. The surgeons have told them that this will be a lengthy operation and Noah will remain in-patient for a few days afterwards. They will also have to stay in Ohio for a least an additional week once he is discharged for further post op care.
While we celebrate and thank God for His goodness and benign biopsy results, please continue to pray for Noah, Bruce, Monica, and Emma. Pray for God to calm their nerves and worry about his upcoming surgery. Pray for travel mercies. Pray for the medical team involved in Noah’s care. Pray that they are able to completely remove his tumor, and that the next round of pathology testing continues to confirm no cancer. Pray for Noah’s recovery to be as easy as possible. Pray for complete healing!!
Thank you to all who have been able to support them by praying, donating, and sharing! They have mentioned more than once how loved and supported they have felt through this uncertain and scary time. They are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity that has been extended to them by so many. It has truly made the biggest difference! Thank you!
ORIGINAL POST: Our dear friends, Bruce and Monica Weeks, are bravely and faithfully walking through the unimaginable. Their 17-year-old son, Noah, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is currently awaiting biopsy results to determine a final treatment plan. Noah is a junior in high school and participates on the Science Olympiad team. He is a great big brother, wonderful student, and loyal friend. He plans to pursue an education and a career in computer science and cybersecurity after he graduates. His future is so bright!!
Please lift Noah and the Weeks family in prayer as often as you can. We believe that God is the greatest physician and almighty healer. We know that He has big plans for Noah and will be with him every step of the way through his treatment and recovery.
While the exact treatment plan is uncertain until pathology results are received, we do know that the cost of medical treatment will be substantial and will likely involve extended out-of-state travel as there are no surgeons in Chattanooga who operate on the kind of tumor Noah has. Bruce and Monica both work in the medical field and have been off since Noah was diagnosed a little over a week ago. Neither of them have PTO or other time-off benefits, and it is uncertain how long it will be until they are able to return to their jobs.
This fundraiser is being started as a way to help relieve some of the financial stress they are facing due to unexpected lost wages and substantial medical & travel expenses. A gift of any size will be a huge blessing to the Weeks family. Thank you!
