Please donate to Nancy Hill’s medical expense fund

Hi, my name is Angela Clerou, a close friend of Nancy Hill, and her daughter, Teena Cocke. I created this fundraiser on behalf of Teena for Nancy’s growing costs of recent medical bills, hospital stay, and now a stay in a continued care center after contracting an aggressive and terminal bacterial infection in her heart from a recent surgery.

Nancy is very loved and appreciated by many generations of residents here in the town of Ojai, where she was born and raised. Her list of tireless contributions and years of volunteer service to our community of Ojai is long and started many years ago. She chaired the Ojai Independence Day Committee, and provided leadership for the Ojai Independence Day parade and the local fireworks show for many years. Nancy organized fundraisers for the Optimist Club and even helped bring back an Ojai tradition, Ojai Day. For over 25 years, Nancy organized youth pageants and served as president of the Jaycees, vice president of the Ojai Valley Woman's Club and was a member of the Ojai Lions Club..

Nancy was passionate about helping veterans, and planned, organized, and directed the Memorial Day event every year at Libbey Park and a Veterans Day event at the American Legion Hall. Every first and third Friday of the month, you would find Nancy in the American Legion Hall kitchen, cooking dinner. Proceeds from the dinners were used to buy items for troops overseas. Nancy also worked closely with the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11461.

In 2001, our dear Nancy was named an Ojai Living Treasure. She truly has been a treasure to us and tireless volunteer to the community of Ojai for over 50 years. She loved living a life being of service, all while working decades as a hairstylist and owning local salons- most recently Ojai Hair Company.
