Donate to help my parents recover what the flood took.

Hello, my name is Sarah Loftus. My parents Karen Loftus and Steve Loftus were driving from Amsterdam to Alicante and hit traffic in Valencia. Suddenly a years worth of rain hit the dry region and created a flash flood, washing the bridge on the motorway they were in away. Water quickly submerged their car and lucky they escaped through the open windows into fast flowing chest deep dirty water. The car was washed away with 100s of cars with the river.

After spending weeks in Amsterdam to help my sister with house conversions the car was packed full of all of their possessions, 20 years worth of electric power tools, clothes, gadgets and important documents such as passports and residency cards.

This at the time, did not matter. They escaped with their lives, phone and a bank card. Thankfully the help of a lorry driver they were safe on the lorry, unlike many others who unfortunately lost their lives.

Now stranded in Valencia due to all travel being closed out of the city area, they are looking to recover what is lost. Nothing except the car is insured. The life affecting damage mentally and now financially is immense.

I am setting up a Gofundme to ask if anyone could spare the money for that weekend brunch or wine with friends to and support my parents to rebuild their personal possessions and money the flood has took from them.
