My name Ashraf Jenna Hutchinson and my in laws have been the the victims of the aftermath of hurricane Beryl and my son decided to start a go fund me to get their house fixed... My name is Trivian Hutchinson and I am 12 years old the reason I started this go fund me page is because my Grandparents house in, once known as the gem of the islands, Union Island has been demolished; from windows, glass doors, furniture, cupboards, doors and most of all the roof. On July 1, 2024 hurricane Beryl ripped through the Caribbean and in its path demolished homes, hospitals, schools and hard earned businesses. We thank GOD everyday that my grandparents were here with us and we cannot imagine if they were home at the time. But now a home demolished, and an Island in shambles they are here with us until they can go home. Can you imagine, all you have are photos and videos of what your home looks like in the aftermath. All they have are memories of what their home looked like before they left.

Hurricane Beryl’s winds were up to 240 km/hr which is considered as a category 4 hurricane and that is what allowed it to decimate the houses and uproot 90 percent of trees. Union Island does have hurricane season but have been lucky in years past to not directly be in the path. But this year Beryl came head on with ferocious force bringing gusting winds ripping through streets, alleys, blowing off roofs and uprooting trees. According to photos and friends living in Union Island, almost the whole island is homeless, people living in their cars if they have one. Some living in people's basements with others even though there is no roof top and the house itself is in disarray, There are hardly any buildings left standing. Houses are flattened, roads are blocked, the electricity poles are down in the streets. It’s like a tornado has passed through. Ninety percent of the island has been erased. Being such a small island most times not even on a map resources are scarce and hard to find and get. Almost everything is imported except for what is grown on the island like fresh fruits and some vegetables but now trees uprooted and tops blown off even this everyday life will take years to grow and it will take years to rebuild but we hope and pray for those currently there and we bless those for their generosity.

With your generosity we will be able to rebuild their home, from structural damage repairs to the roof and windows. Also their livelyhood by replanting trees, fruits and vegetables. We will be able to get them basic needs like bed sheets and everyday use items.

We thank you in advance...
