It's My Birthday! Support This Family With Me

First I want to personally thank you, on behalf of Rich and Kathy, those who have been so generous thus far. The support through donations and words of encouragement is so very much appreciated. The funds have been used in part for a visiting nurse, a new wheelchair. and the family's basic needs.

Now, it's my birthday on the 23rd and I can think of no better gift than a donation to this campaign to help my friend and his wife as they deal with the challenges of this terrible disease.

For those of you seeing this outreach for the first time, my name is Bill, and I am reaching out to you with a sincere plea to help a friend. I have known Rich for over 50 years, our friendship dates back to high school. Today, I am writing to share with you the difficult journey that Rich and his wife are currently enduring.

Rich is facing the relentless challenge of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a debilitating disease that has not only taken a toll on his health but has also placed an overwhelming financial burden on their shoulders. This burden includes the essential expenses for mobility aids, visiting nurses, and the consideration of an assisted living facility in the near future.

Rich has always been a good friend, father, and husband. He dedicated his entire career to serving as a loyal employee of US Steel at the Fairless plant, where he proudly belonged to USW Local 4889 for an impressive 30 years before retiring in 2000. Despite their tireless efforts in seeking assistance from healthcare providers and organizations like the American ALS Association, the support they desperately require has been elusive.

I come to you today, to request your generous assistance in lightening the heavy load that Rich and his wife bear. It is important to note that, on the donation page, I am listed as the recipient of your generosity solely to alleviate some of the administrative responsibilities for Kathy and Rich who already have an abundance of concerns to attend to.
