Hi my name is Baxter. I am a recent graduate of Western Colorado University and a good human. While the most important part of my story is that I walked away from a terrifying car accident without a scratch, I am experiencing ongoing emotional trauma, fear of driving and now face a financial hardship I never could have imagined. I financed a 2023 Toyota Tacoma after putting myself through college and graduating in May. My Tacoma was a light at the end of my bachelor's degree journey and a purposeful investment in my outdoor mountain lifestyle. I thought I had purchased quality insurance and was devastated to find out that this is a total loss. I still have a $43,000 loan on it on top of student loans which I can’t afford to keep paying for 6 years. More significantly I no longer have a means of transportation, which makes my commute to work in the next town over very challenging.
I celebrate that I was in the Tacoma for the crash and believe its stable design and ability to absorb the impact saved my life. That is a miracle. I ask you to help me with the miracle of a fresh start that enables me to pay off the loan for the totaled Tacoma and possibly purchase another vehicle (with the best insurance) so that I can focus on launching my psychology career and paying off my student loans with the option of applying to grad school. I will pay all the help I get forward in every way I can in the future.
