Hey everyone, my name is Ali, and I am fundraising for my father, David. My dad is currently being treated for his second battle with bladder cancer. He already beat prostate cancer in 2011. In 2021, he found out he had bladder cancer for the first time, and they performed surgery to remove the affected area and remove all cancerous tumors. Two months later, he found out it had returned. Even with treatment, the oncologist has given him a 50% chance to live for five more years. After another surgery, the surgeon said the cancerous tumor was too deep into the bladder wall. Therefore, he immediately needed to have a round of chemotherapy followed by removal of the bladder, leaving him with a urostomy pouch which will limit certain activities he is used to doing.
Unfortunately, this illness has forced him into early retirement as a chiropractor. He has been in practice for over thirty-five years, and over that time, he has helped so many people. He was a Northwestern Health Sciences University professor and helped start the intern program many years ago. He then followed his dream and opened up The Natural Care Center of Woodbury with his partner, and I have been blessed to work for them for more than five years, meeting many of his patients. When they would find out I was his daughter, they would tell me amazing stories and praise him for his treatment and kindness throughout the many years he was their doctor. Some patients who have been seeing him referred their family members who are now patients as well. He watched some of his patients grow into adults and some becoming parents and even grandparents. He treats all of his patients like he treats his family members. He truly loves what he does for a living and is excellent at it.
Without his awareness, I am asking for donations so we can afford his medical bills and living expenses while he fights to beat cancer once again. I know he would do the same thing for anyone, even a stranger. One example, an employee could not afford a Christmas tree one year, so he got a tree for their family so the children could have a lovely holiday complete with a tree. He has never been good at receiving, but he has always been a giver of his time, his mind, and a shoulder to lean on for anyone.
Please take a little time to donate even a dollar to my old man. He is my best friend, and I cannot imagine life without him. Thank you and God bless you all.
