Hi, my name is Jordan, and I’m fundraising to help my Dad in the fight of his life against cancer. In January 2025, he was diagnosed with stage 3 Oesophageal cancer with a large tumor near his heart and a rare smaller one on a lymph node in his throat, and told he had 12 months left.

For 30 years, my Dad dedicated his life to saving others as a Firefighter. He joined the service in 1993 at Rushden Fire Station as a Retained Firefighter and then joined the wholetime crew in 2006. In 2014 he transfered to Kettering Fire Station for the remainder of his career, and spent his final 4 years as an Advanced Driving Instructor, teaching Firefighters to drive on blue lights, alongside still being a Firefighter himself. Even in his spare time, he poured his heart into helping others spread their wings by becoming a Driving Instructor with Central Driving Training in Rushden.

My Dad is truly one of a kind. He’s the most genuine, kindhearted, and funniest man you could ever meet—he never misses a chance for a Dad joke, and somehow has managed to raise 7 of us without losing his mind (I would say his hair but he has always shaved it!). He is an awesome Grandad, a true family man. No matter what, he’s always been there for us, day or night, with unconditional love and support.

Dad finally retired as a Firefighter in August last year, ready to enjoy life after decades of service. Just months later his and our worlds were turned upside down. His diagnosis forced him to give up his passion for driving, and he has been enduring chemo treatments ever since. After his last treatment of chemo, his large tumor had shrunk slightly and the other had gone! we dared to feel hopeful, but a recent CT scan crushed us. Whilst the main tumor is stable, the cancer has now spread to 3 other lymph nodes. Surgery may no longer even be an option.

Our Dad is desperately fighting for his life to create more memories with his family. His retirement savings have rapidly dwindled. He has given everything, to his career, his community reaching far and wide and to us his family. Now he needs help.

The specialist treatment he needs to target the cancer, could give him that chance. With it being so expensive, we’ve exhausted all options. Which is what we are hoping to achieve to help Dad. If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the absolute world to our family. Words can’t capture how grateful we would be, but especially how much it would mean to my Dad, who still has so much life, love, and laughter left to give.
