Hi, my name is Heleen and I got my Ragdoll Lily when she was 14 weeks old. She is absolutely beautiful and so sweet. Unfortunately her health deteriorated fast and eventually they diagnosed her with an infection in the brain after several visits to the vet and a referral to a neurologist who did an MRI. I had to give her daily injections and 3 types of antibiotics for 3 months which was an absolute nightmare for me and her but we made it through and she seemed better. After that she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus (second MRI) due to the damage the infection had caused in her brain. New medication, very hard the find right dosage but we concurred that too! A few months later her head was not in a right position, 3rd MRI. Stroke due to the medication she got for her hydrocephalus.
4th MRI, this was last Friday, they discovered another infection in her brain. Now they believe she has Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). And had it all along which was shocking to me because this meant everything we had done in the past was for nothing. FIP is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus. I love her so much and want to participate in the trial for a possible cure with an 85% success rate but that’s another 4.000 dollars. I already used all my savings for all the other MRI’s, medications and visits to the vet. I could really use your help with this!! All the money will go to help her get better and enter the trial.
