On August 29th, 2022 my sister Monica and her daughter were in a head-on collision on their way home from the store. She and her daughter were rushed to the hospital, where my sister received emergency surgery on her right leg. After they were able to stabilize her, she received a second surgery on her leg and also had to get a complete hip replacement of her left hip. She will need intensive in-hospital physical therapy. Afterward, she will initially need someone in her home to provide 24/7 care before she gets cleared to go home from the hospital. We are fundraising for her to cover the travel and medical costs of her family members who will need to fly from California to North Carolina, where she lives alone with her daughter. Any donations would be greatly appreciated so that we can meet our goal and help Monica walk again.
