Donate to help Misa walk again

Hi. We are Janet Vanderhoof and Alicia Garavaglia and we are fundraising for our dear friend and mom, Misa Garavaglia. Misa was born with clubbed feet that were never taken care of as a child. Because of this she has had 6 surgeries that have failed to enable her to walk again without pain. Four doctors have recommended that she be fitted with an EXOSym Kinetic Orthosis. She applied and has been accepted by the Hanger Clinic to be fitted with this medical device! This is so exciting. This device is not experimental, but has been used sucessfully by many veterans and civilians. Unfortunately, medical insurance will not pay for this device, because Medicare gave it the wrong code. All other insurance companies use the Medicare codes. The EXOSym costs $10,000. In addition to the device, Misa needs to fly up to Tacoma, Washington for three days to be fitted in November. Then in December she needs to fly up again for a challenging five days of being trained to use the EXOSym. Because of her present disabilities, Misa can not travel by herself or even handle her luggage. Plus she needs emotional support as she goes through the difficult training. For these reasons, Lou needs to go with her. The flights will cost $1050. The accommodations will be $1450. The fundraiser total is $12,500.
