Hi, my name is Mike, and I’m a sophomore at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. I’m majoring in Psychology with the dream of becoming a therapist or counselor. Mental health is something I care deeply about, and I want to dedicate my career to helping others navigate their challenges and build healthier lives.
College has been an incredible experience so far, but also one of the hardest. Between tuition and my current living situation, I’m struggling to make ends meet. I’ve been working hard and exploring every option — scholarships, financial aid, and part-time jobs — but I still don’t have enough to cover this year’s tuition.
Right now, I need $8,465 to stay enrolled for my sophomore year. This is not just about paying for classes — it’s about keeping my dream alive, continuing my education, and staying on the path toward becoming a mental health professional.
I don’t take asking for help lightly, but any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing my story, means the world to me. Every bit brings me one step closer to continuing my studies and, in the future, giving back by supporting others who are struggling.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for considering helping me reach this goal.
With gratitude,
Mike Villanueva
