On Saturday, April 23, Mike went to the hospital with several chest pain and difficulty breathing. After running tests, the doctors confirmed he had a heart attack. He was admitted for further evaluation. Later that evening, he experienced a second heart attack. They rushed him to cardiac cath where they found blockage in all of his vessels. A stent was placed to hold him over until he could be transferred to a higher acuity hospital for a more extensive operation. After waiting for a bed, he was finally transferred. On April 28th, the cardiologist placed 2 more stents and a wire. The doctors stressed that Mike would be unable to work in construction for a long time, if ever. Mike is devastated and worried about how he will provide for his family. His wife, Stephanie, is doing her best to be at the hospital with Mike, ensuring their daughters are cared for and trying to plan for the future.
