Hello, my dear friend Mika Kanazawa who lives in Malden, MA, has been diagnosed with colon cancer stage II-III. It was recommended that she get conventional treatments and she would probably need a colostomy bag permanently because a part of the tumor is close to the rectum area.
After researching these treatments, she learned of several reports that people who underwent this treatment made sacrifices in both life and finance, yet the cancer still came back and metastasized. This wasn't easy to accept. Therefore, Mika is seeking a more integrative, less invasive, and more optimal treatment approach to survive the next several decades.
There are a few facilities in the US offering this type of treatment in combination with modern medical treatment and cutting edge alternative approaches. Medical and travel costs for such treatments are a large financial burden and her family is not able to support her financially. Therefore, her friends and I are trying to fundraise to help her cover the costs of her treatments.
As a strong, independent woman, Mika is not one to ask for help, especially financially. However, at this time, she does not see any other way of being able to afford these life-saving treatments. Mika has been a dedicated and hard-working student advisor for over 1800 students over the past ten years. She is sincere, warm and sweet to people around her. She brings light to every situation she encounters.
Funds will go directly to her medical treatments and related costs to ensure she receives the treatment she needs to continue bringing her light to our world. Your prayers are welcome to help her get through this difficult time. We will truly appreciate your support!
