my name is Jacob, and right now, i’m facing one of the hardest situations of my life.

for a while, i was part of job corps, and it gave me something i hadn’t had in a long time, a roof over my head, meals, structure, and the space to breathe and try to build something for myself. it wasn’t perfect, but it was a place where i could exist without constantly worrying about where i was going to sleep next or how i was going to eat.

now that’s all coming to an end. job corps is shutting down, and with it, i’m losing the only stable housing and support system i had. i don’t have backup funds or someone to catch me if i fall. i’m trying to stay calm and figure things out, but the truth is, i’m scared.

i’m doing everything i can to get stable. i’ve been applying to jobs, looking for short term housing, trying to find resources, but time is running out. i need to be out very soon, and the cost of moving, transportation, food, and basic needs is overwhelming. i’m not asking for a permanent solution. i just need help getting through this next chapter, enough to keep me off the street, to keep me safe, and to give me the breathing room to get back on my feet.

asking for help like this isn’t easy. i’ve always tried to push through and figure things out on my own, but this is bigger than me. i’m reaching out because i don’t want to fall through the cracks.
