Hi my name is Ken Maclean and on March 17th I was taken to hospital due to a severe infection in my left foot. After years of having smaller infections as well as severe wounds on the foot the doctors found that the infection was much worse than thought to be and I was left with basically 2 options continue living the way I had but much worse or lose my leg from below the knee. I chose the latter.

Ive been in both the university of Alberta hospital for 3 weeks and the Glenrose for almost 4. Throughout my stay i went through a lot of major changes and things didn't go as smoothly as expected. I even had a small heart attack one night. Later I had multiple severe panic attacks as well that felt very similar to the heart attack. Those are no joke! Things eventually got better and I get to go home on May 2nd. Unfortunately i also have a wound on my right foot, making me non weight bearing. I need to make sure the right heals so i don't lose it as well. Going home is going to be both a happy experience and a very nerve wrecking experience. It will be a lot of work to gain strength in my gore and lower body in order to actually walk on my new prosthetic leg. However once I get to that point my life will be so much easier and even better than before I lost my leg.

During this 3 to 4 months I will not be able to work anymore so I'm reaching out through GoFundme for help getting through this difficult period of time. Any amount you can donate is helpful.
