Update 8/27: I have received some more information about possible “leave extension” and my employment/employment’s private disability. I am not sure how soon I will get more information. I will post as soon as I do! I have my other SSDI exam tomorrow (mental status exam) tomorrow. I am not sure what to expect.

UPDATE:‼️

My employer sent me an email at 4pm today (Friday) to let me know I have exhausted the amount of leave time available to me. This is really strange because the disability company told me last week they would work out the leave type when they approved my long term disability.

So now my health insurance will be terminated on 8/31 unless I get Cobra (kind of hard to do when you have no money coming in…). It may be terminated retroactively if I don’t pay it up. Also…obviously no long term disability payments which I was hoping would start in September. Life just gets better and better.

I am REALLY hoping for an answer and approval for SSDI quickly but I think it could take as long as October. That’s scary.

I live pretty basic and frugally but I still have expenses. My electric bill, oil when it gets cold, property taxes which I DO NOT want to fall behind on again and of course my animals.

I am going to have to apply for assistance. Not sure how that will go.

Honestly, I am terrified.

To any friends who have helped and those who continue to help, I thank you so much. It’s a debt I don’t know how I can ever repay.

I am currently waiting to receive long term disability through my employer. My short term disability has maxed out. It will be AT LEAST September 14 until I receive a decision and if approved get a payment.

I am still not able to return to work and need an additional surgery on my back; I am currently waiting for the spinal decompression and fusion on my neck to heal.

With the funds I had and the help of my amazing friends who sent money or purchased items for me I paid on everything I could but I will still have an electric bill come due (already paid over $300 to enter into a payment arrangement) and at least one payment on a loan.

I also will need to buy additional horse and dog food. I purchased a large amount today but it’s not going to get me through the month. I still have the nine Shelter dogs that I was fostering but kinda sorta HAD to adopt to find placement for them on my own. I still have the horse from the rescue that belonged to somebody else who moved away and the horse that I saved from the kill pen plus my own three horses and a houseful of personal dogs.

I took all I was allowed out of my 401k (it wasn’t much I have only been with the company one year).

I paid $100 on my health insurance and should really pay at least $100 more this month. I paid all my credit card bills for the month. I purchased some basic needs but will have to buy additional household/personal necessities and have gas money to go to physical therapy and two appointments with SSDI doctors which are mandatory as part of my SSDI claim.

I know. It’s a lot and I feel like all I do is ask for help. I sold one of my saddles and am hoping I can sell some kennel panels too. I am stretching every dollar as fare as I can. I just can’t make it stretch far enough.

I am hoping to raise at least $1500. This would allow me to purchase the additional horse and dog food, make a payment on my electric bill which I believe is going to be $550. I would also be able to cover things I need like gas money, laundry detergent.
