If I am forced to return to the U.S., I am likely to get my passport revoked, my driver's license invalidated, and my medication taken away, all because I'm trans. The result: extreme poverty, starvation, and severe medical complications, not to mention risk of violence.

I am lucky to have journeyed to Australia before things got really bad. And even luckier to have found the love of my life while living and working in Melbourne.

But my visa is expiring in November. Governments around the world are dragging their feet in acknowledging the very real danger faced by trans Americans and Asylum is not yet a practical option.

All is not lost. My partner and I are working around the clock to save up the $12,000 AUD needed for a partner visa. But we need your help. So far we have only $700 in savings and time is running out.
