Hello, my name is Maisie and I am raising Funds for a manual wheelchair.

I have various health conditions such as: Functional Neurological Disorder, Epilepsy, Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, Myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic disabling Migraines.

If I was to tell you this time last year I was a Petty Officer in the Sea Cadets climbing snowdonia and I was completely fit and healthy, would you believe me? Because I sure was.

All these conditions started off with a simple faint. Two months later I experienced my first seizure then I couldn’t feel my legs, then my hands began to seize. My legs would turn purple and the pain is something I would not wish on my worst enemy. Unfortunately the list keeps going. All these conditions combined has made it extremely difficult for me to walk very far without being in awful pain, out of breath, fatigued and pre-syncope. I have made this GO Fund Me page to raise money for an appropriate, durable, light weight , made to measure wheelchair. I suffer from extreme weakness in both my arms and legs so unfortunately a NHS wheelchair is unsuitable for my needs. I never knew how expensive wheelchairs were until I started to relay on one. I have been in contact with a Charity which has made suggestions on wheelchairs that would suit my needs. They have been brilliant and would love to set me up an appointment to help decide what wheelchair would benefit me.

I am now navigating a new life and I really would love your help to navigate it with me.
