I am a 17 year old girl in high school. Last February, I moved away from my home town and everything I knew to live with my sister because of a bad home life. After many unfortunate series of events, I lost my first ever car-- a 2019 Chevrolet Impala, and we struggled under a very tight time crunch before buying a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze from someone for 4,000 dollars on facebook marketplace.
Since then, this car has been broken and in the shop every month since we've gotten it. We've put thousands of dollars into this car to fix it, replacing both the battery and transmission, as well as many other issues.
Then, on April 17th, my engine exploded in my school's parking lot. It started smoking and when we checked, there was oil everywhere and we've rendered it unsalvageable.
For now, we are going to try to fix it and then sell it to go towards a new car. Unfortunately, since the government shutdown in November and over 10 hospital visits in the last month due to a newly diagnosed seizure disorder, we don't know how long it is going to take to come up with this money.
I will be a senior in high school this fall, and due to my continuous schedule for work and extracurricular activities, I will have to rely on my guardians and other people around me to take me to and from different places, and it's placed a lot on everyone's life.
My guardian is in the air force. She will be moving away from me after I graduate, and if I don't have a reliable vehicle to transport me to college and work when she is gone, my early years of adulthood and hopes for success will be struggling.
With your help, all of the money will be going towards helping us afford parts, a mechanic, and saving up for a new, reliable car.
All donations are greatly appreciated! If you cannot donate, please share so other people can try and help!
