Upon reading many inspirational stories of people fighting their way through ALF, I’d like to introduce myself and share my story. My name is Christine, I’m a single mother of a beautiful daughter, and I’m struggling with acute decompensated liver failure with varices and complications of multiple organ systems.

The last several months have been very difficult. Aside from dealing with various signs of the disease, I have been left weak, and as a result, I suffered a setback when I fell down some stairs, resulting in a broken neck. Now, I’m working with a great team of medical professionals, including a GI specialist, a liver specialist and my GP.

Unfortunately, due to these health issues, I’m unable to work. This unexpected and devastating turn of events has left me, my friends and my family in shock. I’m not only going through an incredible emotional strain, but the overwhelming financial burden that comes with extensive medical treatment is weighing on me heavily.

Every day brings a new hurdle. I’ve always been strong and positive, but now I need to reach out for help.

Any funds raised would be directly used towards medical travel and maintaining a stable and consistent lifestyle for my young daughter, who is about to experience something devastating. I recently lost my mother, but not at such a young age, so I worry about her and want to make sure I’m not a burden to my loved ones and that she is well taken care of.
