Update 24/06/25 19:44 GMT:
Hello
You may have come across my page from a video I posted on TikTok, or a link your friend sent you.
I have been overwhelmed by the offers of support the last two days and I am now in the position of hoping to be able to purchase a new powered wheelchair. I’m going to be posting videos about my life and experiences as a disabled person, but let me briefly explain here why I believe buying a new wheelchair would improve my life tremendously.
My current wheelchair is not for all terrains or waterproof, meaning if I get caught in the rain my chair gets damaged. It can’t manage cobble stones and rough terrain well, and can only travel 9 miles on a full charge.
I’m hoping replace my chair with something that folds and can fit in the boot of a car, but also has the capability of me going out for long walks and doesn’t mean I’m constantly worrying about the battery dying on me.
I believe the appropriate chair, extra set of batteries and attachments for my walking stick and headrest should come to about £5000 - £6000. I will update you with information as I become more sure on the chair of my dreams!
If by some miracle I exceed the amount I need for my wheelchair I would like to use the excess to support a close disabled person in my life like me who is in desperate need of a wheelchair to improve their access to the world.
Thank you so much and there will be more updates coming!

My previous story:
Hello,
My name is Nix/Nyasha and I am raising money to purchase a new battery for my powered wheelchair.
On Saturday my wheelchair stopped dead in the middle of the main road and incoming traffic started up with the vehicles beeping at me. A couple helped me across the road and I then battled with my wheelchair to get it started again so I could make the journey home. It stopped several more times along the way, mostly in the pavement but also once more in the middle of a (this time residential) road.
I contacted the repair team asap but was told today that they are switching contractors and that I would have to wait until the new contractor took over as they couldn’t order any new parts. My PA contacted Wheelchair Services who said that they would place me on a waiting list but couldn’t answer whether it would be a month or two before I get an assessment that will lead to a new battery.
I can’t wait that long. I have regular tic storms and tic seizures which make me collapse during which I completely wreck my muscles. This heightens my pain levels in my body. I have fatigue flops where I can’t move or respond. I also have bone fragments floating in my knees around my patella tendons, hypermobility and tics that sweep me off my feet all of which make it a severe fall hazard for me to be ambulatory.
I’ve found a company who can order the new battery and been told it will be £780. I also need a new basket to hold the battery at the bottom of my chair, and I need to pay for delivery. In total, I’m aiming for £1k to cover the costs of everything.
Please, please only give what you can. I’m fully aware that other money-stretched disabled people will be sharing this the most, but I really don’t want you helping me to put you at disadvantage. Times are tough for disabled people worldwide and I just want help from folks who have a spare amount to give. If you can’t add some coins, please don’t worry. just sharing this will contribute so much.
Thank you,
Nix
