Hi, my name is Jodi Huettner. I am a former engineer, I am the current owner of a women's safety coveralls company based in East Vancouver, BC, Canada, and I am an outspoken advocate for Inclusive Personal Protective Equipment Standards.
My message is simple: globally, we need to mandate the inclusion of women's body data, gender-based statistics and standards pertaining to women, and field testing on women for the design and construction of products, starting with products that impact health and safety (personal protective equipment) such as face shields, respirators, hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety vests, safety coveralls, safety glasses, safety gloves and more.
I am raising funds so I can travel to Delphi Greece to speak on a global panel about the effects of the gender data gap in Canada as it pertains to women in the workforce. My talk will be at the 8th Delphi Economic Forum's Inclusivity Lounge on April 27th.
This is a very important milestone for me, it means my work has officially entered the Zeitgeist, giving me the chance to inform and personally network with an audience of activists from more than 35 countries over 2 days.
I need help coming up with my airfare ($2716.36), a few days at an AirBnB ($317.00) prior to the event to shake off my jet lag and to deliver a stellar online presentation to WorkSafeBC's staff, and some travel funds ($200) to make sure I can get from point A to point B for a few days, drink fancy coffee, and not eat fast food for every meal.
I am turning to you, my amazing network, for support in this effort to change the story for future generations of young women.
