Donate to Help Matt's Mom Recover from Fire

Hi, my name is Matt and last week on Friday night/Saturday morning, my mother woke up to her house on fire. Though she wasn't really aware at the time what was going on, she woke up to her home filled with smoke and was luckily able to get her and her dog out of the home before the flames really took over. Unfortunately, before the fire was able to be put out, most of the house and her stuff was gone. She was left with almost nothing but the pajamas she was wearing and a couple of small items the firefighters were able to retrieve for her before it was too late. We are extremely grateful that she and her dog made it out safely and the firefighters were able to get the fire out before it grew even more into the other condos nearby.

This is truly a tragic situation as my mother has experienced a ton of loss over the last few years, including her husband and parents, and now she has lost her home and all the memories that were held inside. While this tragedy alone is terrible, she received a call earlier that same day from a mechanic that was looking at her car and was informed that her car needed a new transmission. The mechanic said due to the model and age of her car, he had not even been able to locate a transmission in the country to replace it, and if he did, it would cost more than the car is worth. She was in the process of shopping for a new car, but now with this tragedy on top of that, it will be extremely difficult for her to find a place to live and buy a new car at the same time.

Those of you that know my mom know that she is always willing to help anyone in any way that she is able. Now she is the one that could use a little help in the wake of this tragedy. We are hopeful that she will not have any problems with insurance taking care of the home, but insurance will not help her with the car. We are asking for donations so that we can help purchase her a reliable used car so that she will have one less thing to worry about during this terrible time. We appreciate any donation at all.
