Donate to help Mateo's journey to becoming cancer free!

Hi, I'm Taylor, and if you've had the privilege of meeting my beloved Great Nephew Mateo (Contreras), you would know that he's one of the sweetest souls you will ever meet. Sadly, Mateo was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (HL) and is facing the battle of his life at the age of fifteen, amid his first year of high school. Life is not always fair but he along with his parents (Michelle Bloom & Jorge Contreras) are grateful to have had HL detected at an early stage and have faith in Mateo's full recovery.

Mateo is being treated at Toronto's SickKids hospital (as an out-patient) but lives north of Barrie. Treatment suddenly becomes very complicated when you don't live near the treatment centre. After the frenzy of helping find a suitable place to stay for his first treatment cycle, it became very real how difficult and costly accommodation will be for Mateo's treatment. Can you imagine being displaced from the comfort of your home and bed during chemotherapy treatments? Of course this is the last thing parents need to deal with while coping with their child's cancer treatment.

I've received many requests asking "how can I help"? Then it dawned on me that this is a perfect reason for a GoFundMe campaign to help ease the financial burden for Mateo's parents while on his journey to becoming cancer free! Despite their reluctance, I convinced Michelle and Jorge to let me launch this campaign.

Accommodation is limited and expensive in Toronto (especially near SickKids)! Therefore, I've set a goal of $10,000 to help with accommodation costs throughout Mateo's out-patient treatment plan at SickKids along with follow-up testing (4-6 months).
