Hello, I am hosting a GoFundMe for my amazing friend Mary Lewis and her mom, Pam. This past August, Pam visited her doctor for a routine medical appointment. While there, she informed her doctor of a lingering cough. As a retired registered nurse, Pam asked for a chest x-ray. "No, you don't need that. You are so healthy". However, Pam was persistent and sure enough, the x-ray came back abnormal. A PET scan and biopsy showed that Pam had stage 3 lung cancer that spread from her lung to her lymph nodes. Pam and her husband Mark have since rented an apartment in NYC where Pam is receiving treatment at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Mary, who is the most selfless person I know, lives in MD and has been commuting to NYC to help her mom and Mark during the past few months. Pam has completed four rounds of chemotherapy and will be undergoing a right pneumonectomy, where she will have her right lung removed. This surgery will mean that Pam will be in the hospital for 6-10 days with a long road to recovery. Mary will be in NYC a lot during this time, keeping her mom company, assisting with their needs and, therefore, missing work and driving back and forth from MD to NYC.

Mary and her family could use our generous donations, whatever you can give, whether it is $5 or $50 during this time. They will need meals, travel expenses, assistance with rent, high costs of medical treatment as well as working less/taking time off of work. I know they will be appreciative of donations or just well wishes sent their way <3
