My beloved aunt, Marlene Duco, is currently facing financial hardship and the threat of eviction. We are coming together with the goal of raising $13,200—equivalent to one year of rent ($1,100/month)—to help secure her housing and provide stability during this vulnerable time.
Marlene has been a light and a pillar of the communities she’s lived in and created. You might know her iconic, lilting voice as the reservationist at Indochine from 1984-2020, or perhaps you’ve been lucky to receive one of her famous birthday cards, to hear her singing, or exclaiming something in Italian, or to laugh with her– if you do know her, you know she is a person who shows boundless care and love for those around her. That she creates a sense of safety and family wherever she goes. And that there is simply no one like her.
If you have been a recipient of her love and care, or have been moved by her humor and generosity of spirit, or her ability to get you a booth on a packed Thursday night at Indochine, perhaps you might consider offering some help to Marlene in order to ensure security in this time of need.
With love,
Yvonne
