Jasper’s Gender Transformation Surgery ️⚧️

Hello, my name is Shai Robinson and I’m the mother of an amazing son who goes by the name of Jasper (or JC), affectionately. JC is a 15-year-old, 10th-grade honor student, military brat in Abingdon, MD. He enjoys photography, videography, and music. As a youth, he use to enjoy swimming, but that ended once he started developing breasts. Having been born a “female”, Jasper never felt comfortable in his developing body, always feeling different than his peers. At the tender age of ten, his cycle began. It was at this point, that he became more vocal about his gender dysphoria and angrier overall. Like many other adolescents that can not properly communicate what they’re feeling at that age, Jasper began going down a rabbit hole of severe depression. Following suicide attempts and hospitalizations, JC went to live with his biological father in Okinawa, Japan. It was there, that he found his tribe and his truth… he’d been assigned to a body that wasn’t Indicative of who HE was on the inside, a young MAN. Since 2020, Jasper has been living his life as a transgender male amongst his friends, ultimately coming out to his family in 2021. Since, Jasper has wanted nothing more than to complete his top surgery, allowing him to be freed of the constant binders that remind others that he was born female. He wants to swim again! As a mother, it has not been easy navigating the ups and downs of a transgender child. The emotional roller coaster of him being misgendered, the not wanting to attend school when his cycle begins, the explaining to family members that transgender has nothing to do with his sexual preferences! Urgh, but perhaps the most difficult hurdle has been financial. For the past year, Jasper has been taking hormone replacement therapy, gender affirmation therapy, and having bi-monthly labs and office visits. As you can expect, these quickly add up. All expenses have been covered out of pocket. Tricare, his insurance doesn’t cover any transition care. To date, we’ve been approved for “top surgery” (removal of breast/sculpting) on July 5, 2022, but we need your help to make it happen. Any amount, small or grand, will go straight towards Jasper’s medical procedure and additional treatments. Everyone deserves to be their authentic self. #allyforJasper️⚧️
