Contribute to Mabel's Critical Surgery

Meet Rocket Dog "Mabel". She came to us from Fresno Animal Center in February 2025 as an underweight 36lb puppy with two cherry eyes that needed corrective surgery. After 2 surgeries and a lot of TLC, Mabel is now a 60lb hilarious, sweet girl who loves chewing on bones, playing with canine friends, and cuddling with her favorite people. But several weeks ago, Mabel's wonderful foster mom noticed that she had developed a limp in her back legs. Testing revealed that Mabel has severe hip dysplasia and requires extensive surgery to repair.

Mabel will be traveling from the Bay Area out to UC Davis Veterinary Hospital where we are confident she will receive excellent care and have a great chance of a long-term successful outcome. The cost of this surgery is a huge undertaking for our rescue, $18,000. But at only 1 year old, we know that surgery is the only option to ensure that Mabel lives a long life free of chronic pain.
