Luca (he/him) is a 25-year-old trans man from Lima, Peru, who moved to the U.S. in 2020 with the hopes of completing his medical transition.

Luca has been living with severe chest dysphoria for over six years, which has deeply affected his physical and mental well-being. For years, Luca has relied on double binding to manage his dysphoria, but the pain has now reached a breaking point. He’s come to a place where the physical toll is unbearable, causing him extreme pain in his back and ribs. The discomfort and anxiety he feels have robbed him of the ability to do things he loves, such as exercising, going to social events, and wearing his favorite clothes.

Despite multiple attempts to find affordable access to top surgery, or to collect savings towards that goal, Florida policies and Luca's financial instability have severely impacted his access to medical care.

Luca’s ultimate goal is to feel free from this constant burden—to live authentically as himself, pain-free, and without the weight of dysphoria holding him back. Any form of support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing his story, would mean the world to him. It would bring him one step closer to a life where he can truly be himself.
