Hey everyone! My name is Alice , and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Julie and her beloved cat, Loki. Julie has been doing everything she can to help Loki recover, but his medical bills have become overwhelming after multiple emergency procedures. I wanted to help her share Loki’s story and ask for support from anyone who can contribute or share.

Below is Julie’s story in her own words:

Hi everyone,
My name is Julie, and I’m fundraising for my sweet 7-year-old Siamese cat, Loki.
In mid-September, I found blood in the bathtub and rushed Loki to the vet. Tests showed bacteria in his urine, but no kidney stones. He was treated for what was believed to be a simple urinary tract infection with 14 days of antibiotics and pain medication. Since things seemed straightforward, no X-rays were taken at the time. Just five days after finishing his medication, I noticed blood in the bathtub again and immediately took him back to the vet. That’s when we discovered Loki had a urethral blockage, a life-threatening condition in male cats. He was given X-rays and catheterized to flush out “sludge” from his bladder and urethra, but sadly, he still couldn’t urinate on his own. That same afternoon, he underwent his first surgery, where the vet made an incision in his abdomen to manually flush his bladder. Unfortunately, even that didn’t solve the problem.
Two days later, Loki had to go through a second surgery. A perineal urethrostomy (PU), a complex, life-saving procedure that creates a new urinary opening to help prevent future blockages.

Loki has now been hospitalized for eight days, and he’s still unable to urinate on his own. Today was his third surgical procedure to reflush his bladder. During it, the vet found a stone that may have developed during this whole ordeal. He’ll remain catheterized and is expected to stay in the hospital for at least two more days. The doctor is also exploring whether Loki’s trouble urinating could be psychological, since his kidneys are working well, he’s eating, and he’s having normal bowel movements.

This has been such an emotional and exhausting experience. As of last Friday, Loki’s vet bills were already at $3,400 — and that doesn’t include his weekend hospitalization or the third surgery. Between the emergency visits, surgeries, medications, and ongoing care, the costs keep climbing, and it’s become too much for me to manage alone.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward Loki’s continued treatment, follow-up appointments, and his new prescription diet to help prevent future blockages.

Loki is such a loving, brave boy who means the world to me. I’m praying every day that he gets to live a long, happy, healthy life surrounded by the love and comfort he deserves. Every share, prayer, and donation truly means the world to both of us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping give my special boy another chance.
