This is Logan Baumeister. He is facing mounting hospital bills to fight off cancer that he was shockingly diagnosed with shortly after his 22nd birthday.

Logan was taken to the Emergency room due to severe pain in his left testicle and an ache in his lower back. The doctor suspected a torsion (twisted testicle), and after the doctor manually detorsed the testicle, Logan's pain was mainly resolved. An ultrasound was performed to determine if the blood flow had returned.

What came next can only be described as a complete shock to Logan and his parents. The urologist notified them that a mass in his left testicle was found on the ultrasound. After getting a second opinion, Logan was officially diagnosed with testicular cancer and had surgery to remove the mass immediately after. Logan is anxiously awaiting the Pathology report so a medical treatment plan can be made.

While most testicular cancers are curable, there is a concern of metastasis as they found a nodule in his left lung, which would greatly complicate his situation. Logan is facing the fact that chemotherapy and radiation are likely scenarios for him very soon. Additionally, he would like to use sperm banking to preserve his ability to have children one day because of his age.

As you can imagine, all of this is very shocking, scary and expensive. Logan has a very high deductible plan and has not been able to work while he recovers from surgery. Additionally, the loss of income will grow as he begins his treatment plan. The hospital bills are starting to come, and he cannot get ahead of it. His parents are helping and will continue to help Logan with the costs as much as possible, but the past two years have presented many health and financial challenges for his family. Logan’s mom was diagnosed with a severe voice disorder and an autoimmune disorder, and both ailments have no cure and require many treatments. She is on long-term disability and will most likely remain on it indefinitely, greatly affecting how much they can assist financially. Logan’s dad was laid off due to Covid and remained off work for 18 months.

While no one likes to ask for help, sometimes it is unavoidable. Logan is young and has a long life, God willing. This diagnosis can crush him physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. We are asking that you help him to avoid this.

In Logan’s teen years, he experienced kidney issues and had multiple surgeries, which immediately caused him to become active and conscious about his health and wellbeing. He is enrolled at UNLV to be a Registered Nurse to help other children and families get through their most challenging days. His lifestyle led him to work at REI, where he can connect with others who share his mindset.

With all of this said, Logan has remained highly positive. He promised to let his parents do the worrying for him so that he may continue living his life as close to normal as possible.

Logan appreciates any support you can provide.
