Hi, my name is CR, and I am helping my good friend Lily with this. Lily's mom, Annie, is currently dying in the hospital. Annie has Stage 4 congestive heart failure, but she is a fighter. Unfortunately, life threw another curveball at them. A few months ago, Annie noticed and felt pressure and a lump around her uterus. After numerous trips to the doctors and hospitals, her cardiologist approved her to have surgery done to remove the unknown growth. After the hospital had told both Lily and Annie that they accept Annie's insurance and everything was agreed upon by the doctors, they backtracked and stated that Annie's insurance wasn't accepted at their hospital, so the journey restarted itself. During this time they were required to start from square one in another hospital, all while the mass was growing. They did a biopsy of it and it was in fact, Cancer. They had to wait to do the surgery as they needed more testing done. By this time however, the mass had grown substantially. Saturday, April 23rd Lily had to call 911. Annie on they received the devastating news that it has perforated Annie's bowels and small intestines. She has bacteria and an infection in her abdomen. Due to her congestive heart failure, Annie would not survive surgery and surgery is the only way to fix the perforated bowel and stop the leakage. They made the heartbreaking decision to not do the surgery, as chances are, Annie would die in excruciating pain if they tried it. The doctors are predicting she has about 2 weeks left. We are hoping and praying a miracle happens and that she survives longer and heals, but chances of that are slim to none. They obviously were not planning for this at all.

 

Lily and Annie are personal assistants to authors and own a small company together but they live paycheck to paycheck. Even now, Lily is working in her mom's hospital room. Lily will need help paying for the cremation costs (a possible funeral too), a few momentos of her mom, a nice urn, and possibly some money to survive on for a while so she can take some time off to grieve. I set the goal to $10,000 so Lily has some room to breathe and mourn her mom.

 

Nobody deserves to go through this. Please help. All the funds (minus whatever gofundme takes out, will go directly to Lily).
