Hi, I’m Brenda, a horse trainer in the SF Bay Area. A member of our local equestrian community needs your help. Kinley has been part of our barn for years and owns an OTTB named Wesley that she Events with. Kinley has recently been accepted to LSU and is planning to attend in the fall. She has been working two jobs so that she can save up enough that she doesn't have to work in her Freshman year and focus on school. Kinley is smart, dedicated, a hard worker and has a bright future. As horse people, we always expect the worst injuries to come from our sport, but that is sometimes not the case. Unfortunately, Kinley was one of the 7 young people who were shot by uninvited guests at a friend's birthday party in Antioch on June 10th. She has serious injuries with a lot of internal damage caused by being shot in the back. Surgery thankfully was successful! Kinley still hopes to attend LSU in the fall and unfortunately will not be able to keep her jobs while she recovers from her injuries. We are looking to support Kinley being able to move forward into college off of this situation and help her succeed. Please consider donating to help Kinley get back on track and be able to enjoy her freshman year that this unnecessary gun violence threatened to destroy.
