Hi, my name is Erin, and I am fundraising for my brother, Jon Carlton and his dog King. Many of you who know me or my family have heard Jon's story - Jon had a massive heart attack 6 years ago on top of a mountain in the Sierra Nevadas. It was a beautiful April morning and Jon, his friends, and King had just hiked up Esha Peak, which overlooked the town of Mammoth Lakes. They planned to snowboard down the mountain when Jon experienced what we now know was a massive 10/10 heart attack on top of the mountain. With his friends and King by his side, Jon had no other option but to get down the mountain to get to the medics who met them at the trailhead. King was there every step of the way down and has been with him every step of the way through his recovery.

King is an amazing dog, a steady and consistent companion, always ready for any adventure, and my brother Jon's best buddy. In February King was diagnosed with cancer, Melanoma in his front paw. The prognosis was heartbreaking for Jon and all who know and love King, but King is a fighter and can overcome this just like his dad, Jon. He underwent surgery where they removed a section of his paw, trying to get as much of the tumor as possible and the vet recommended a strict bi-montly treatment plan to fight the cancer.
Because of his heart attack, Jon is on a very fixed and extremely tight budget with his monthly disability payments and has been struggling to figure out how to afford the surgery and treatments. The Vet bills are stacking up with $900 in appointment charges, $800 in surgery costs, and treatment shots to hopefully get rid of the Melanoma and prevent it from coming back at $500 a shot. (King's vet would like him to take 2 shots a month for the first several months and once a month for the next 6 months.) If you can, please help Jon be able to provide these life-saving treatments for King. King is an extremely important and needed part of Jon's recovery. Every little bit helps, and please share widely.
Thanks for the love and support!!!
