Hi, everyone! I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom, Kim, who recently went through an incredibly difficult and life-changing ordeal. Kim suffered a devastating stroke and fell down concrete stairs where she sustained a broken ankle and knocked out her front teeth. While in the ICU at the hospital they found blood clots in her lungs and brain. Along with all of this, she battles with severe Atrial Fibrillation of her heart, which is now out of control. All of these things combined have caused her to be almost fully immobile. She is currently still in the hospital, and it is unknown when they will release her. She needs round the clock care to sit up, eat, use the bathroom, and more.

Kim has always been known for her caring, generous, and selfless spirit. She puts everyone before herself and is always the first to offer her love and support. Kim has been a caregiver her entire life, and is currently still caring for her child, who has on going physical ailments and mental health issues.

Due to the stroke, Kim faces long-term mobility issues and other challenges. To support her recovery and improve her quality of life, we’re raising funds to cover several essential needs, including:

A personal support worker to help with daily everyday tasks at home

New glasses - Due to the stroke she has double vision and needs specialized prism glasses (approx $1,000)

Physiotherapy sessions to regain strength and mobility

Dental implants - Oral surgeon has quoted between $7,500-10,000 and is not covered under her basic insurance

A walker and apartment fittings to prevent future falls and ensure her safety at home

Rent - (next 3 months $6,000)

The road ahead is long, but we are hoping to help Kim gain her independence and quality of life back. We know this is a huge amount and honestly don’t expect to reach that goal as this economy has been rough for everyone, but any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated and go directly toward these costs to make a significant difference in her journey to recovery.
